The Faith Lutheran Church Council met on September 21, 2021 to discuss plans for resuming in-person worship services. By a unanimous vote, the council approved the following plan with guidance from the ELCA and CDC: In-person worship will resume on October 3, 2021 with one service at 9:30 a.m.  On-line worship will also be live streamed at 9:30 a.m. The service will be 45 to 50 minutes long. The Blessing of the Animals will be by video submission only. Do not bring your pets to worship on the 3rd, (except for service animals.)

All worshippers will be required to wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth to help protect yourself and others. (No gaiters or shields.)

Stay six feet apart from others who do not live or visit with you.

Stay 16 feet away from the musicians when they are singing and 16 feet away from the pastor during the entire service.

If you have any symptoms related to COVID-19, please do not attend in-person worship. When you enter the sanctuary, you are certifying that you do not knowingly have COVID or any of its symptoms and are vaccinated against COVID, if eligible. You are also certifying that you understand the risks of possible exposure to COVID and that you will contact the church office if you do test positive for COVID-19 after attending worship.

We will continue to avoid practices indoors known to spread the virus among people in indoor settings, such as congregational or choral singing.  Singing will be done by a soloist or a small ensemble. Some songs will be pre-recorded to allow for more participants. The council believes that it is important that we continue to hold the love of all people–those vaccinated, those yet to be vaccinated, and those not getting vaccinated–in our plans.  We remember that children under age 12 and some that are medically vulnerable do not have the ability to be vaccinated, and some immunocompromised individuals when fully vaccinated remain particularly susceptible towards infections. So too, caretakers of these vulnerable populations are at a heightened risk of transmitting it to loved ones. We will hold these most vulnerable populations at the forefront of our plans. All worshippers over 2 years old must wear masks. In the future, we hope to hold vaccine information sessions and help those who wish to be vaccinated to do so safely and confidentially. We also might plan to hold two services if attendance at 9:30 a.m. is too crowded.

Friends and Faith family, the pandemic lingers, but “let us not grow weary in doing what is right” as we “work for the good of all” (Gal. 6:9–10). Welcome home!
