The Greatest Gift Project: Little Red Hen

LITTLE RED HEN is a non-profit organization serving children and adults with developmental disabilities through training programs, social skills, education, and employment. Each week, they serve more than 400 children through play therapy and social skills development. They operate five retail stores that employ adults with developmental disabilities, and operate four enrichment programs serving more than 200 developmentally disabled adults who gain life skills, job training, and social skills that help them become independent, contributing members of our community.

Why it Matters:

Due to recent, dramatic funding cuts under a program called rate reform, the ability to provide essential supplies for the enrichment programs has been significantly reduced. To continue supporting this important population, they are launching the new Day Program—the Artisans Creative Art Center—where adults with developmental disabilities can explore creative arts, build skills, and express themselves in meaningful ways. To make this program thrive, they need the community’s support to provide creative arts supplies and resources.

Every contribution—big or small—provides adults with developmental disabilities the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive through creativity, education, and employment.
