11th Sunday after Pentecost

Each week, we provide questions based on last Sunday's sermon. These questions are to encourage you to connect the scriptures to your own life and to invite you to grow deeper in your relationships with others at Faith by discussing the questions together.

Readings: Roman 10:5-15, Matthew 14:22-33

Sermon: We think we need to walk on water to grab hold of Jesus, but Jesus grabs hold of us even when we're sinking under the waves.

Questions:

1. When have you done something foolish, dangerous, and unhelpful simply to prove something to yourself or others?

2. When have you taken a risk in order to help someone? How did that experience differ from the risk simply to prove something?

3. Who do you know who might be taking a foolish risk simply to prove something? How could you let them know that they are already loved?
