All Hands on Deck!  Faith Lutheran Church Spring Cleaning and Facility Upgrades

It’s been over a year since our last spring cleaning! Time to freshen up the exterior, clean the rooms, and prep for painting and flooring installation. We could use about 50 folks for three hours on Saturday morning, March 7.

Here are the chores we're planning to do:

  • Weed front of church and add plantings to front and sides of church—replace lost tree on NE corner—experienced planter needed
  • Plant several plants in south and west beds and hook up to irrigation system—experienced planter needed 
  • Hand re-grade (minor) the beds on the west and south, and cover with fabric (bark later)
  • Clean leaves and branches off east alley tree beds and alley
  • Clean up columbarium beds
  • Re-lay irrigation on courtyard mound near basketball hoop
  • Wash all windows inside and out of all buildings
  • Clean all fans in rooms and fellowship hall
  • Power wash concrete in courtyard and sidewalks—(if you have a machine we request that you operate your own machine for the morning or train people in its use)
  • Construct new box over front irrigation valves—special assignment to someone who can do carpentry
  • Dust and wipe all door frames and baseboards in all buildings
  • Vacuum all rooms in all buildings
  • Clean all sanctuary chairs and move from rooms as needed
  • Weed and clean up areas on east behind sanctuary and on north behind front retaining wall
  • Pull all tagged furniture and supplies from rooms for disposal
  • Pull all tagged materials from rooms to be moved into other spaces
  • Install shelves in room 5
  • Strip baseboards and door trim from rooms to be painted and carpeted (to be determined)

If you have any of these items, we encourage you to bring them:

  • Rubber mallets
  • Razor blade cutters
  • Shovels—small and large, flat faced spades and other
  • Rakes
  • Wheelbarrows—at least five or six
  • Power washer, hoses, etc.- three needed
  • Power tools and tools for irrigation box construction and shelf installation—only if you are doing that job
  • Everyone:  Gloves for all hands, Hats, Sunscreen, long-sleeved shirt

    All other needed supplies will be provided once we determine scope of work. Thank you for helping our congregation get our facility ready for Easter!
