Faith Lutheran Church will be sending a few members on a trip to Israel in January. This short class is to help orient them to their visit and to give the rest of us an armchair view of what they will experience, but everyone is welcome to attend this class. Come learn about Israel: the land, the people, the battles; the way in which “place” and “sacred space” made the Bible, its characters; the ministry of Jesus and the Church; and the enduring importance of Jerusalem in the modern world. Maps, timelines, scripture reading, and introduction to characters bring our study to life as we travel across the dusty roads and into the hamlets and emerging urban centers of the Levant.  Lots of good recommendations for future reading (and movies) as well.
